De dwa da dehs nye>s has been successfully providing culturally safe programs and services that are relationship based, welcoming and individual directed since 1998. We provide Primary Care and Health Promotions programs that are well sought after and currently have a wait list. De dwa da dehs nye>s is the place of first choice and last hope of Indigenous peoples in the Greater Brantford area.
The capital project in will provide a new centre for Indigenous Individuals that will have an impact the health and well-being of urban Aboriginal people and the community at large in the City of Brantford and the further County of Brant.
Your support of this project will allow the health care professionals and staff at De dwa da dehs nye>s to continue to offer patients and families exemplary care, in new facilities designed for wholistic practice. In addition to this, the new facilities dream to become a hub for social services and programs that will truly be of value and service to the City of Brantford and the County of Brant communities. Never has one local project stood to affect the lives of so many. Together, we are making history.
Capital Project – Hamilton (Biindigen Well-Being Centre)

De dwa da dehs nye>s has been successfully providing culturally safe programs and services that are relationship based, welcoming and individual directed since 1998. We provide Primary Care and Health Promotions programs that are well sought after and currently have a wait list De dwa da dehs nye>s is the place of first choice and last hope of Indigenous peoples in the Greater Hamilton area.
Realizing the opportunity to do more – and better – through collaboration, a circle of established partners has come together with a shared goal to establish a new and innovative Indigenous-led Well-Being centre in the McQuesten neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ontario. This new community centre of integrated health, family, social and housing services and supports will operate under the name Biindigen Well-Being Centre.
The main partners and supporters are the De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre (DAHC), Niwasa Kendaaswin Teg, Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services, McMaster University Department of Family Medicine and the City of Hamilton. They are unambiguously supported by the McQuesten Community Planning Team, and the Hamilton Community Foundation. An array of other Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations are active supporters intending to lend their programs and networks to making the Biindigen Well-Being Centre a true and comprehensive hub of health and social supports and services.
The Centre will also provide primary health care services to all residents in the neighbourhood where it will be located – regardless of culture or background. Housing a McMaster Department of Family Medicine teaching unit, it will also act as a lively academic centre of shared immersion in best practice care, learning and research in Indigenous and non-Indigenous health and well-being.
The Biindigen Well-Being Centre will address significant and growing gaps in care, bring care and services into the community and help to alleviate pressures on hospitals. It will ensure high quality care in a culturally safe and respectful environment.
Once established, the Biindigen Well-Being Centre will feature a distinct and forward-thinking Indigenous-led model of collaborative care that is unique to Canada and has tremendous potential to be a model of future integrated health care rooted in reconciliation.

Community Outreach Fund

De dwa da dehs nye>s has been successfully providing culturally safe programs and services that are relationship based, welcoming and individual directed since 1998. We provide Primary Care and Health Promotions programs that are well sought after and currently have a wait list. In recent years, we have also been able to expand into the Niagara Region to provide Advocacy and Outreach and Mental Health Services.
Our commitment is to connect people in Indigenous Community and local neighbourhood(s) to support health and well-being by integrating resources that meet the boarder determinants of health. De dwa da dehs nye>s is the place of first choice and last hope of Indigenous peoples in the Greater Brantford and Hamilton areas and the Niagara Region.
The Community Outreach Fund is designed to provide episodic assistance to Indigenous Individuals who are find themselves in need from time to time. In addition, specialized events can be held throughout the year to support the needs of the Indigenous Communities in Hamilton, Brantford and Niagara such as the back to school backpacks program held every year.
With the growing pressures on the economy and especially the Indigenous Community through the COVID-19 pandemic, this fund will also provide support to Indigenous Individuals who require episodic support during this time. Supports can include Food Cards, Pay-As-You Go Cell Phones, and other assistance that may be required.

This fund will be utilized to offer programs, services and equipment/tool that may not be available through our formal funding agreements.
