Constance McKnight, a woman of Metis heritage, is the Executive Director of the De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre in Hamilton.

She is a wife, mother and auntie.

Currently, she is also the Aboriginal Constituency Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Ontario Health Centres, and is a Public Member of the Consent and Capacity Board of Ontario.

She is a founding member and past Chair of the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health, is the former Executive Director of the National Network for Mental Health, and has a substantial history working within the mental health and cross-disability sector nationally.

As a mental health leader representing the consumer/survivor constituency of Canada, Constance worked hard to support the move of mental health to the front of the Federal Agenda. For her leadership nationally, she was awarded with The Council of Canadians with Disabilities National Award in 2005.
