Brittany is proud of her Six Nations (Cayuga) and non-native (Celtic, European) ancestry. Brittany grew up in Hamilton and attended Mohawk College and then McMaster University for her Social Work education. Brittany has worked with the Hamilton, Brantford, Six Nations and New Credit communities and brings various experience with her from the areas of: street-involved youth services, crisis and counselling services for abused women and their children, group work and programming with children and youth, pediatric mental health in a hospital setting and child welfare services with Indigenous children and their families.
Brittany works toward a good mind in her everyday personal and professional life and describes herself as a spiritually connected person. Brittany’s passions include: hot yoga, aromatherapy, learning and utilizing holistic health remedies and being with nature. Brittany is honoured to be with De Dwa Da Dehs Neys as the Child and Youth Mental Health Worker for the Brantford site and hopes to bring culturally safe, holistic, and trauma-informed practice to her role.
